@august i mean, kind of? people do hate all trans people, but transmisogyny is a very special kind of hatred and "dickless" is not really targeted at trans men at all and moreso a birthing of societies general penile fixation. meanwhile there are a ton of slurs and insults and hatespeech and calls for violence specifically for trans women. like there exists hate towards trans men but this is probably not a good example of how engrained in society it is

@august i believe that, but i can assure you i have also been called dickless many times in my life. examples of transmisogyny in my life include being called dickless, a "schwuchtel", a number of worse sentiments that i don't dare repeating, as well as general tendency of society to see trans women as a dedicated victim that deserves nothing and is in the wrong even when someone else causes her harm. transandrophobia deserves a better example than a slur that is used against trans men every now and then but also against every man because of a penile fixation in society.

@nea89 i didn't claim to have a complete list of examples of transandrophobia, nor that i was focusing on the most impactful ones, i am mostly talking about what bs happens to me when it does. my statement did not mean to imply that this is an example where transandrophobia and transmisogyny can be weighted against and i don't want to claim at all that one is worse than the other, my statement meant to imply 'see? transandrophobia exists.'

i agree that there are more prominent examples of transandrophobia that are for example slurs exclusively used against transmasc people, but just because this one isn't i don't see why i shouldn't talk about having gotten called this

but generally, i do agree with your points

@august im sorry you got called that, that is really tasteless, and normally i would just be wishing you the best and ask how i could help, but i dislike comparing transmisogyny (which is fucking dire, and not half the transphobic things done to even trans women is transmisogyny specifically) to what is a relatively common slur. and i will stand on firm ground and say that while hate towards trans men is real and awful, transmisogyny (specifically societies tendency to designate transwomen as designated victims and punching bags, strawmens for every bad thing possible) is worse than transandrophobia, in general. this is not to say im putting down trans mens suffering (in particular the way in which trans men are often treated as invisible, or hated if they dare make themselves visible), but i will also not stand for putting down trans womens suffering.

again im very sorry for you on a personal level, i truly am, i just mistook your statement about transmisogyny as a political statement. i hope ill learn to take your posts less literal and you learned a bit about what transmisogyny is and how it differs from more generic trans-related bigotry

i hope you didn't understand my posts to have been meant as to put down trans womens suffering! transmisogyny is real and awful.

i personally don't believe i can speak on which one is 'worse', and i personally think there are more directly helpful things to talk about (for example, how we as a society can reduce all the kinds of bigotry all kinds of trans people face)
